Day 1 of Multi Sensory training with Oily cart

Drama through senses

Today I started a 6 day multi sensory training course with Oily Cart. The course focuses on performance to people with profound & multiple disabilities.

The start of the day was full of introductions to the 20 people on the course from all over the world. We then had a do a visual presentation about ourselves, the area we work in and what brought us to the course.

Later on we split into group and explored our senses with a blind fold and ear defenders on, while being lead by someone else. It’s really such a surreal experience but very enjoyable! I felt, I was able to let go and just enjoy all the touch, sounds/vibrations and smells without any distractions. 

Looking forward to day 2 where we will be pair up with a group of children and create a performance especially for them.
