Make a Scene and Schools and Centres

Schools and centres:

If you're a school or a Centre, please contact Make A Scene for information on rates for hosting sessions at your location. We can work around your curriculum or design tailor-made sessions to meet all needs and abilities.

At Make a Scene, we strongly believe that everyone should have the opportunity to participate in drama and acting.

Our inclusive theatre company works with individuals with a range of abilities, including those with learning disabilities, neurodivergent, physical disabilities, and sensory impairments we already work in partnership with many well know schools and centres and even send students into the Brit School.

Our classes are designed to cater to each individual's needs and abilities. We focus on developing communication, social, and performance skills through a range of drama-based activities, including improvisation, role-playing, and script work. Our aim is to build confidence and self-esteem, encourage creativity, and provide opportunities for everyone to showcase their talents on stage. We aim to challenge negative stereotypes surrounding disability and highlight the unique abilities and perspectives of our performers. We believe that theatre has the power to bring people together, promote understanding and empathy, and create positive social change.

We cover all of London and the South East.
We work with all needs, all ages, all abilities and love to change young peoples lives through drama.

Esther’s Journey

Make a Scene has developed and performed our first sensory theatre performance. Esther’s Journey is an innovative and interactive muti-sensory theatre performance that is specifically designed for young neurodiverse audiences with PMLD and ASD. The performance takes the audience on a magical journey with Esther.

The performance was designed to be fully inclusive, with a focus on accessibility and engagement for all. We use a range of sensory props, including tactile objects, scent jars, and interactive soundscapes, to create a fully immersive experience that transports our young audience into Esther’s magical world.

Our sensory theatre project has been made possible thanks to a grant from Arts Council England and Gatwick Airport community trust. With this funding, we have been able to bring Esther’s Journey into SEND schools in Croydon, Tandridge, Reigate and Banstead, reaching over 500 young people with PMLD and ASD.

If you would like to us bring a sensory theatre performance to your school or organisation please get in touch. Book now by emailing: Makeascene99@gmail.com

Esther’s Journey was truly amazing. The show was multi-sensory with excellent use of clear voices, signs and repetition which all the children could engage with. The actors, musicians, and crew were so talented.
